Miscellaneous

  • In Stop! Look! And Hasten!, when Wile E. tried using a Burmese tiger trap, an actual tiger appears and frightens Wile E. away. A latin name was given while it walks away: Surprisibus! Surprisibus!
  • Wile E. Coyote gives Bugs Bunny the Latin name Rabbitus-Idioticus-Delicius in the short Rabbit's Feat, although it was spoken instead of being shown on-screen.
  • In Soup or Sonic, The Road Runner's beeps are given a latin name of their own: Beepius-Beepius

Behind the scenes

  • In taxonomy, the actual term for Latin names is binomial nomenclature ("two-term naming system"), or binary nomenclature, referring to the naming of species by giving each with a name composed of two parts, usually in Latin grammatical forms.
  • The actual scientific names for the coyote and roadrunner are Canis latrans and Geococcyx, respectively; although Geococcyx is a genus name and not one referring to a singular species.
