Behind the scenes

  • The title is a pun on the old western song "My Little Buckaroo."
  • The short's premise in many ways resembles that of the 1951 short Drip-Along Daffy, also directed by Jones.
  • This is the first Merrie Melodies cartoon in the 1954–55 season, and the first to use the newer-style rings for the outro sequences.
