Like other similar antagonists, Canasta is often portrayed as an intimidating "dumb muscle", but is relatively more criminal in his personality and much more intimidating. This is especially evident by his dangerous presence amongst other characters, along with his near superhuman strength and use of his revolver pistols. Despite this, he is easily fooled by those who are considerably smarter than him, including Bugs Bunny.
