Detailed summary
Memorable quotes
Foghorn: Now, who's respons-, I say, who's responsible for this unwarranted attack of my person?!
Foghorn: Now what, I say, what's the big idea bashing me on the noggin with a rolling pin? Clunk enough people and we'll have a nation of lump-heads.
Foghorn: Let me guess, dearie. You're looking for a husband.
Prissy: Y-e-e-es!
Foghorn: Well, you're going about it the wrong way, sister! You don't bat 'em on the bean with a rolling pin. (to audience) That comes later.
Foghorn: Nice girl, but about as sharp as a sack of wet mice...
Barnyard: Alright, Salome. Give papa da purdy melon!
Foghorn: Sooner, I say, sooner or later, she's bound to try to get him out of that dog suit. Then who-a-a-a-a, Nelly!
Grey hen: Waddya got in the market basket, dearie? A husband?
Foghorn: Ye-, I say, ye-e-es!

Behind the scenes
- This is the first theatrical cartoon in which Miss Prissy is paired with Foghorn, after her debut appearance in the Porky Pig short An Egg Scramble.
- It is also the first Foghorn and Barnyard Dawg short to not feature Henery Hawk.
- When Prissy dances in front of Barnyard with a casaba melon, he makes a Biblical reference by calling her "Salome."
Legacy
- Prissy has a crush on Foghorn Leghorn in this short and in the future cartoon Of Rice and Hen, who doesn't show any interest in her affections. Later, in Little Boy Boo and Strangled Eggs, Foghorn would be portrayed as a person who pursues Prissy for negligible reasons.
- The short was included as part of Miss Prissy's wish in Daffy Duck's Fantastic Island. The ending was change so that Prissy would carry Foghorn in a wheelbarrow, as they both leave the wishing well. However, Foghorn still retains the ending line from the cartoon.
