Behind the scenes
- The title is a pun on ant paste, a home insecticide chemical used for killing ants. The word "pasted" is slang for getting a beating.
- Despite the title card depicting Elmer in his usual hunting clothes, Elmer instead wears casual clothing in the actual short.
- The water coolant scene bears similarities to the one in Bad Ol' Putty Tat.
