Memorable quotes
Henery: I just caught myself a chicken.
Foghorn: Chicken? ha-ha-ha, Ah say, ha-ha-ha! That’s no, Ah say, that’s no chicken, son. I’m a chicken. Rooster that is!
Henery: Don’t give me that! You’re not a chicken!
Foghorn: What am I then boy?
Henery: You’re a loud-mouthed schnook.
Foghorn: Lookie here, son, I’m no loud-mouthed schnook! This is a dog, not a chicken! Chickens don’t look like dogs. Who told you this was a chicken, son? (to audience) Nice boy, but doesn’t listen to a word you say... (back to Henery) You got a bum steer, son. I’m a chicken, not a schnook. You’re wrong, son!
(Barnyard Dawg kicks Foghorn from behind)
Barnyard: Schnook!
Foghorn: Some days, it don't pay to get outta bed!

Behind the scenes
- The MPAA certificate number is 11883.
- This is the first short where Foghorn Leghorn's name appears on-screen. While the word "Leghorn" is used in subsequent Foghorn shorts, he would be billed as such until the 1953 short Plop Goes the Weasel!
Errors
- Despite being a Merrie Melodies short, it was erroneously billed as a Looney Tune in the lobby cards. It is likely that it was planned to be part of that series before being changed.
