Release

Dates are in order of release:

  • United States: February 9, 1963 in theatres

Behind the scenes

  • The title is a pun of "devil's food cake".
  • This short is a retelling of the 1954 cartoon Satan's Waitin', starring Sylvester and Tweety Bird.
  • This short also reuses clips from previous Bugs Bunny cartoons:
  • In the reused footage, the audio for most of them were entirely remade for this short, save for a scene in which Sam rides a camel in Sahara Hare, which repurposed his dialogue over new sound effects and music.

Errors

  • While this was a Bugs Bunny short, the intro sequence lacks both Bugs Bunny's head fading in on the opening rings and a "Bugs Bunny in" card.
