Behind the scenes
- The black sheep who warns the sheepdog on the wolf's activities has a vocal resemblance to Eddie "Rochester" Anderson of The Jack Benny Show.
- When this short aired on Cartoon Network, his scene was deleted, likely due to the implied racial stereotyping of his character.[2]

Everlasting Influence
- The sheepdog and wolf dog in the short served as a precursor to Ralph Wolf and Sam Sheepdog, who first appeared in the 1953 Looney Tunes short Don't Give Up the Sheep, directed by Chuck Jones.[3] Maltese also wrote the latter short following this one.
