Behind the scenes
- The title is a pun on "crocodile tears."
- Arthur Davis, credited as "Art Davis" in this short, had assumed supervision for this short, making it his first time directing since 1949. Davis directed this cartoon using Friz Freleng's unit, as his own unit was dissolved around late 1949 due to budget problems. This would also be his final Merrie Melodies short that he directed until 1980.
- Originally, this cartoon was originally slated to be included on the Looney Tunes Super Stars' Daffy Duck: Frustrated Fowl DVD, but was replaced early in development due to executive backlash from Warner Home Video.
Errors
- Unlike other cartoons featuring Daffy, he is not drawn with his white collar around his neck. However, the lobby card for the cartoon portrays him with his collar on.
- After Daffy puts the stick of dynamite thorough the female alligator's eggs and then her husband puts it into the nest, a stick that's already been place already is later substituted by the one the gator places in.
Legacy
- This cartoon was used in The Bugs Bunny Mother's Day Special.
