Behind the scenes
- The title is pun on the personas of Jekyll and Hyde, from the Robert Louis Stevenson story The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
- As in their previous cartoon, Tree for Two, Chester, oblivious to what Spike (named Alfie in this short) had really gone through, is disillusioned by his cowardice, resulting in the dogs switching roles in the end.
- When the chase starts, a sign on a building reads "Wyner Loan Co.", a reference to background artist Irv Wyner.
