Behind the scenes
- The Sing Song Prison is a parody of the Sing Sing Correctional Facility.
- This cartoon, alongside What's Up Doc?, Hillbilly Hare, Bunker Hill Bunny, and Bushy Hare are the only cartoons from 1950 to not get a Blue Ribbon reissue; they incidentally all star Bugs Bunny.
Errors
- When Bugs locks the cell that Sam is in, the sound effect is delayed.
Legacy
- While this cartoon was used in the television special The Bugs Bunny Mystery Special, the gallows scene was drastically changed. Instead of Sam being hanged after pressing the gallows button, there is new scene added in which he gets launched into the air.
