Behind the scenes
- The title is a pun on the "gay ninties", a term referring to the time period of which this short is set.
- The MPAA certificate number is 10798.
- The cartoon bears similarities with The Dover Boys at Pimento University, directed by Chuck Jones in 1942. Despite the two having different plots, they are both set in the 1890s, and are said to be the earliest examples of limited animation, for the use minimalist and stylized of movements.[1]
