Shirley is a young waterfowl with white feathers, an orange coloring on her beak and legs, and blonde hair. She normally wears a pink long-sleeved sweater and a bow on her hair. She lives in Acme Acres and attends as a student of Acme Looniversity to learn the basics of being a cartoon character. Shirley also talks in a thick valley girl accent, inserting the word "like" in some sentences in addition to adding some speech flare with unique slang.
Shirley is known for having a laid-back and peaceful demeanor, in addition to her strong interest in New Age spirituality. Many characters would often refer to her as a fluke, but Shirley debunks their skepticisms on a psychological level. She is often the spaciest of the Acme Loon students due to her likings of being in a state of cosmic oneness.
Due to her ties to New Age spirituality, she is shown to possess many psychic abilities, including telekenisis and the ability to levitate in air. Her spirituality also lies in her intrests with extrasensory perception (ESP), fortune-telling, meditation, crystals, Tarot cards, palm reading, and reincarnation.
