- The title is a play on the song "I'm Getting Sentimental over You," which was first recorded by Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra in 1932.
- Pepé is referred to the short as Stinky by a mailbox of his residence. He was previously referred to as Henry by his wife in Odor-able Kitty.
