Release

Dates are in order of release:

  • United States: March 27, 1954 in theatres

Behind the scenes

  • The title is a pun on the 1932 Noël Coward comedy play, Design for Living.
    • The working title for this cartoon was "Future Antics."
  • Daffy once again reprises a salesman role that he previously played in Daffy Dilly (1948), The Stupor Salesman (1948) and Fool Coverage (1952).
  • Although the original opening and closing titles are known to exist, it is still restored with the Blue Ribbon re-release titles.

Errors

  • When Elmer encounters the "Hat and Coat Remover" robot, he says "Hey, what is this?", but his lips only move to the word "Hey".
  • When this short was released on the Looney Tunes Super Stars' Daffy Duck: Frustrated Fowl DVD, it was cropped down to a widescreen format. While it was restored to fullscreen on certain streaming platforms, it has not been re-released on home video as of yet.
