As mentioned above, the series was followed by a direct to DVD film called ''Looney Tunes Rabbits Run'', serving as an informal finale to the series.

While the series wasn't popular in it's original run, In later years, the show would gain a cult following and is praised by fans for it's portrayal of the Looney Tunes cast, with some wishing the personalities of the characters from the show stayed the same in later variations, mainly Lola.

The Looney Tunes Show is an American animated television series produced by Warner Bros Animation. It is the twelfth Looney Tunes series based on the theatrical shorts that ran from 1930 to 1969 in the golden age of animation. It ran from 2011 to 2014, spanning 52 episodes across two seasons.

Presented as a modernized 21st century sitcom, it centers on Bugs Bunny as he lives in a suburban home alongside his roommate Daffy Duck, their neighbors Porky Pig, Yosemite Sam, Lola Bunny, and an extended cast of others. The episodes generally focus on Bugs and the cast dealing with ordinary issues along the way, some of which are caused by Daffy's rather bad lifestyle.

The series would also bring back Merrie Melodies as well as air Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote shorts in between episode but the latter was fizzled out in season two.

The series would be followed by a loose sequel direct to video film titled Looney Tunes: Rabbits Run in 2015.

Production

Development

The series began life as Laff Riot, an unaired pilot made in 2009, which would be the last time Joe Alaskey would voice Daffy Duck before passing away in 2016. He would be replaced by Jeff Bergman in the actual series.

Music

The theme song "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down" was carried over from the theatrical shorts, originally composed by Carl Stalling and rearranged by Andy Sturmer.
