Release

Dates are in order of release:

  • United States: October 28, 1950 in theatres

Behind the scenes

  • The working title for this cartoon was, Is Everybody Hoppy?.
  • When Sylvester Junior alerts his father to the presence of Hippety Hopper, Sylvester replies 'Oh, come now, kid. I’ll do the thinnin’ around here!' Ten years later, the phrase, 'I’ll do the thinnin’ around here.' would become a catchphrase of Hanna-Barbera's cartoon character 'Quick Draw McGraw'. All episodes of that series were written by Michael Maltese.
  • The box art for Looney Tunes Super Stars' Sylvester & Hippety Hopper: Marsupial Mayhem came from this cartoon's title card.

Legacy

  • This cartoon marked the debut of Sylvester Jr., but the only thing that in this cartoon, his voice pitched wasn't raised. Start with Who's Kitten Who?, Sylvester Jr. would have his voice pitch raised to peek perfection and would be used for the rest of the series.
