Lyrics

Main song

I love to sing-a
About the moon-a and the June-a and the spring-a,
I love to sing-a,
About a sky of blue-a, or a tea for two-a,
Anything-a with a swing-a to an "I love you-a,"
I love to, I love to sing!

I was born a singin' fool-a,
Lah-de-dah!
Ol' Major Bowes is gonna get me,
Got through Yale with boula-boula,
Lah-de-dah!
Old microphone's got me!

I love to sing-a,
I love to wake up with the south-a in my mouth-a,
And wave a flag-a,
With a cheer for Uncle Sammy and another for my mammy,
I love to sing!

Reprise

Fritz: "Stop! Stop! STOP! Enough is too much!"
You wanna sing-a,
About the moon-a and the June-a and the spring-a,
I love to sing-a"
Owl: About a sky of blue-a, or a tea for two-a,
Anything-a with a swing-a to an "I love you-a,"
I love to, I love to sing!

I love to sing-a,
I love to sing-a, "Never stop-a to my poppa,"
And wave a flag-a,
With a cheer for Jackie Bunny and another for my mommy,
We love to sing!

The Looney Tunes Show version

The song appeared as part of a Merrie Melodies segment in The Looney Tunes Show episode, "Gribbler's Quest." This version was performed by Gossamer (Kwesi Boakye). The lyrics are significantly altered from the original, which include the removal of any culturally insensitive references, including the term "mammy."

Lyrics

I love to sing-a,
About the moon-a and the June-a and the spring-a,
I love to sing-a,
About a sky of blue or a tea for two,
Anything-a with a swing-a to an "I love you-a,"
Oh I love-a to, I love to sing!

I love to sing-a,
I like to sing-a, never stop-a for my momma,
'Cause I'm her boy-a
With a cheer for Mr. Bunny and another for the Ducky,
Just a little song that makes a black cat lucky,
Oh I love-a to, I love to sing!

I was born a singin' monster, la-di-da,
Oh nothin's gonna stop me
I'll sing-a my way through grade school, la-di-da,
The microphone's got me!

I love to sing-a,
'Cause when I wake up with a song-a in my mouth-a,
Or like this friend-a
With a cheer for dear Granny and new Yosemite Sammy,
I love to sing!

I love to sing-a,
About the moon-a and the June-a and the spring-a,
I love to sing-a,
About a sky of blue or a tea for two,
Anything-a with a swing-a to an "I love you-a,"
Oh I love to sing!

I love to sing!
