Development
Initially, Friz Freleng was intended to direct the short, but refused to work on it as he was unsatisfied with the story. A feud occurred and resulted in Freleng receiving a month-long suspension from the Warner Bros. studio.[1] Pratt, who was Freleng's layout artist, would direct the short, although he went uncredited in the final product.[2]
