Behind the scenes
- Egghead was a caricature of comedian Joe Penner, both in voice and character design.
- He was initially depicted as being bald in his debut, while in his remaining three appearances for the Merrie Melodies shorts, he was given a mop of black hair.
- He is often confused by several sources for being an early iteration of Elmer Fudd, and that they were the same individual until they evolved together to form what would become the finalized version of the latter.
- In Daffy Duck's Quackbusters and subsequent appearances, Egghead sported a design previously used for the prototypical Elmer, bearing his bald head, clothes and derby hat.
