Pepé Le Pew (film)
- This article is about the cancelled film. For other uses, see Pepé Le Pew.
Pepé Le Pew was a planned animated film that was first reported in 2010, and based on the character Pepé Le Pew from the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies theatrical series. The film was planned to be written and directed by Max Landis for Warner Bros.[1] However, it was cancelled due to sexual assault allegations against Landis in 2017,[2] and a report that Pepé had not yet planned to appear in future productions in 2021 leaves the feature film in doubt.[3]
Production
Development
In October 2010, it was reported that Mike Myers would voice Pepé in a live-action/animated hybrid film, although no information about this project has surfaced since.[4] In July 2016, it was announced at the San Diego Comic Con to be lead by Max Landis for Warner Bros. as a fully-animated feature film.[1] However, the film was left unproduced following allegations against Landis in 2017, during which a studio insider cited that the project had been in turnaround for nearly two years.[2] In 2021, the status of its production was further put in doubt when Warner Bros. announced to not include Pepé Le Pew in further productions until further notice.[3]
