Bugs Bunny's Wild World of Sports is a television special that aired on February 15, 1989 at CBS. It was written and directed by Greg Ford and Terry Lennon, and uses a combination of new animated footage with classic material from the Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies shorts.

Hosted and by sportscaster Roy Firestone, the special sees the Looney Tunes gang in an Oscar-styled ceremony to see who will be honored for the "World's Greatest Sportsman".

• It was the final production in which Mel Blanc voiced the Looney Tunes characters, five months before his death after the special's airing.

Home availability

The special was released on VHS in 1993 by Warner Home Video. It was also available as a bonus feature on The Essential Bugs Bunny DVD set in 2010.
