Mutiny on the Bunny is a two-hundred and sixty-eighth Looney Tunes theatrical short. It was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and The Vitaphone Corporation on February 11, 1950. It was written by Tedd Pierce, produced by Edward Selzer, and directed by Friz Freleng.
In 18th Century England, when his old crew abandons ship, Shanghai Sam decides to find a new crew. When he tricks Bugs into taking a cruise only for him to be shanghaied instead, Bugs decides to scuttle with Sam's ambitions.

Behind the scenes
- The title is a pun on the mutiny on the Bounty, a 1789 historical event in which the crew of Lieutenant Fletcher Christian seized control of the HMS Bounty from captain William Bligh. It is also a play on the 1935 film Mutiny on the Bounty, which adapted the event.
- It is one of several nautical-themed shorts with Sam as a pirate, along with Buccaneer Bunny (1948), Captain Hareblower (1954), Captain Hareblower (1954), This Is a Life? (1955) and From Hare to Eternity (1997).
- In this cartoon, Bugs fools himself by reverse psychology when he argues with Sam about swabbing the deck.
- The footage and music where Sam rebuilds his ship on the docks is reused twice, with the latter half (Sam putting boards over the hole) being reused once more before Bugs' final ploy; the scene where is repaired ship is launched into the water is reused once.
Errors
- When Sam reads the clue "...and five paces to the right and dig at spot marked X" and follows the directions, he is actually going to his left, but the directions refer to the right side of the movie screen.
Legacy
- Despite not being included in Bugs Bunny's 3rd Movie: 1001 Rabbit Tales, the beginning from this cartoon where one of Yosemite Sam's former crew escapes in terror while admitting his insanity to the audience is an homage in that film; Sultan Sam's previous royal storyteller runs out on him looking haggard, traumatized, disheveled, and half-insane because of Prince Abadaba's antics.
