Helluva Boss is an adult animated independent web series created by Vivienne Medrano (aka Vivziepop) on her YouTube channel. It is a spin-off of the Amazon Prime series Hazbin Hotel, of which it also exists within the shared Hellaverse. It has been on Merando's YouTube channel since October 31, 2020, premiering 15 episodes that spanned two seasons, along with 2 specials.
The series is about the Immediate Murder Professionals, or I.M.P., who are an assassination business in Hell tasked with going down to earth and killing people. It centers on the misadventures of Blitzo (the o is silent), leader of the I.M.P., his adoptive daughter Loona, his employee and best friend Moxxie, and Moxxie's wife Millie, whom Moxxie adores. It also centers on Stolas, the Prince of Hell and Blitzo's fling, who lended the book that Blitzo uses for his assassin job.
For being a show set in Hell, this series enjoys making references to Looney Tunes.
Bugs Bunny
- "C.H.E.R.U.B": The opera sequence between I.M.P. and C.H.E.R.U.B. is inspired by the Bugs Bunny shorts What's Opera, Doc? and Rhapsody Rabbit.
Foghorn Leghorn
- "Loo Loo Land": A buisnissman named Wally Wackford is introduced in this episode, who says "I say, I say" at the beginning of his sentences in similar fashion to Foghorn Leghorn. He would go on to appear in other episodes, taking on different jobs.
- "MAMMON'S MAGNIFICENT MUSICAL MID-SEASON SPECIAL (ft Fizzarolli)"
Other
- "Spring Broken": Blitz's nickname for his daughter Loona is "Loonie Toonie".
- "Western Energy": Blitz once again refers to Loona as "Loonie Toonie" when he takes her to the vet.
- "Exes and Ohhs": When Blitz and Millie have to crash Chadwick and Moxxie's wedding, Blitz steals a car and starts flipping through the radio stations, with one of them being called "Lusty Tunes".
- "C.H.E.R.U.B": Wally Wackford's commercial starts with a Looney Tunes like opening card.
