Japan (Japanese: 日本, Nippon or Nihon) is an island country located in East Asia. It is close to the east coast of Korea, China and Russia. The Pacific Ocean is to the east of country and the Sea of Japan is to the west. Tokyo is the capital of Japan and its biggest city.
Japan is considered a cultural superpower as the culture surrounding it is well known internationally, including its art, cuisine, film, music, and popular culture, which encompasses prominent manga, anime, and video game industries.

Behind the scenes
- During World War II, the Warner Bros. cartoon studio produced a number of propaganda shorts aimed directly to mock Japan and their Axis allies at the time.[1] Two cartoons in particular, Tokio Jokio and Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips, were infamous for its offensive racial caricatures of Japanese people, and in case of the latter, was never released in home media after complaints of its inclusion on the first volume of The Golden Age of Looney Tunes Laserdisc collection.
- On November 15, 2001, Warner Bros. and Sanrio launched the Tweety & Kitty collaboration (Looney Tunes x Sanrio) where Hello Kitty appears with Tweety Bird. The first merchandise in Japan featuring Hello Kitty and Tweety was launched in Japan in March 2002.[2]
- Sometime in 2001, Warner Home Video released a three-volume set of Sylvester and Tweety DVDs in the country, under the title I Love Tweety.
