Three Little Bops is the three hundred and seventy-third Looney Tunes theatrical short. It was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and The Vitaphone Corporation on January 5, 1957. It was written by Warren Foster, produced by Edward Selzer, and directed by Friz Freleng.

The Three Little Pigs are a hip jazz band known as the "Three Little Bops," who perform regularly at nightclubs. The Big Bad Wolf – a square trumpet player – attempts to join the group with backfiring results.

The music was composed by jazz composer/trumpeter Shorty Rogers,[1] while "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down" opening title was done by Milt Franklyn.

Everlasting Influence

  • The short was featured in slightly edited format in the third act of The Looney Looney Looney Bugs Bunny Movie, with brief interviews of the Big Bad Wolf and the Three Little Pigs during the pre-show.
  • The short's version of The Big Bad Wolf made an appearance in Daffy Duck's Fantastic Island, as one of the people standing in line of the wishing well.
  • The Three Little Pigs and the Wolf of this short made cameo as one the bleachers in Space Jam.
