Porky's Preview is the one hundred and forty-fourth Looney Tunes theatrical short. It was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and The Vitaphone Corporation on November 2, 1940. It was written by Dave Monahan, produced by Leon Schlesinger, and directed by Tex Avery.

Porky screens a film at his local theatre, consisting of "homemade" cartoons drawn by himself.

• The MPAA certificate number is 6743.
• It is the last Porky Pig cartoon directed by Tex Avery, and the last black-and-white Looney Tunes short that he directed.
• The short fell into public domain in 199, due to Warner Bros.-Seven Arts not renewing the copyright at the time.
• Porky credits himself as being from 2nd grade, with a draft number of 6 and 7⁄8. He is also 7 years old in this cartoon.
• The scene where a stick-figure caricature of Al Jolson sings "September in the Rain" was cut from all U.S. television airings (including Nickelodeon), due to its use of blackface. It was also cut on a few VHS prints.

Everlasting influence

• The off-key rendition of Stalling's "Frat" score was used in the television special Bugs Bunny's Wild World of Sports.
