The film was produced by Warner Bros. Animation and was originally planned for a release on HBO Max.
After starring in a smash hit Looney Tunes Broadway production, Bugs decides it's time to retire from the spotlight for life as a normal rabbit. Development
The film was first announced on June 15, 2022.[1]
On September 16, 2022 an artist announced that a majority crew had been laid off, which left the status of the film unknown. On August 22, plans for an HBO Max were dropped and the film was instead planned to be shipped to other streaming services.[2] However, Jess Marsifi, the props and effects designer, later stated that the film was still in production despite the lay-offs. Production on the movie was put on pause in order to rework the flim into a full fledged musical.
On August 15, 2024, an animator confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that the film was cancelled.
Music
The music will be produced by Ariel Dunas and Tom Kitt.
